What is RSS? »

This is just a quick note to introduce one of the main features of the Erina Chamber News — RSS or Really Simple Syndication.

There are many Definitions of RSS but I am not going to go into that too far other than to say the primary purpose of RSS is to help you stay informed by your favourite News Websites as simply as possible, by allowing you to aggregate information without having to visit the website.

First off we have changed the RSS link to help avoid confusion and you will now notice the RSS button button in the footer of this page.

EDIT: 24-05-05, 11:30am
We have now extended RSS support to Upcoming Events so you will also now see the RSS button button in the footer of the Events page.

So what does this link do?
The RSS button is merely an indicator that there is a Syndicated news feed located on this page, if you click the button you will get an un–styled XML document. This may look like we have done something wrong but in fact it is actually working just fine.

Below are some helpful links with information about RSS and some of the most popular Feed Readers around.

RSS Aggregators. (May require purchase.)
Feed Demon for Windows
NetNewsWire for Mac OS X

Some Web Browsers and Email Clients can also have the ability of aggregating News Feeds such as Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird with the help of Extensions such as Sage (all free of charge).

So if you like to know what’s going on in the world and you find yourself spending too much time looking for news updates, then news aggregation is what you need, so start feeding.
