Erina Chamber Charity Golf Day 2011 Review
The weather could not have been more generous for the Erina Chamber Charity Golf Day 2011.
Over 100 corporate golfing enthusiasts, sponsors and volunteers participated in the day and had a blast. The event was in support of the Erina Chamber of Commerce and to raise money for this year’s chosen charity- the Men of League Foundation. The key purpose of Men of League is to provide support and assistance to former sports coaches, players and officials and their families who have fallen into hardship.
The Sheather & Merrigan team played hard to take out the winning trophy with a score of 53.5, followed closely by the Westpac Team who took out second place. The best cricketers on the course were Central Coast Locksmiths.
The after game presentation featuring guest speaker football legend Peter Sterling was again a huge success, with Peter giving a rundown of his past 12 months in sporting. This was followed by some great questions from the audience. The Vice President and co-founder of the Men of League, Jim Hall, provided a thorough run down of the charity’s operation and thanked The Chamber for the contribution.
NBN representatives come along to secure a story that was aired on television news that evening.
The charity golf day is a prime example of The Chamber’s commitment to supporting and giving back to the local community and is an event that everyone looks forward to again in 2012.
